How to Keep Your Glass in Tip-Top Condition

How to Keep Your Glass in Tip-Top Condition

Modern homes are filled with glass. Windows, glass doors and mirrors all need to be cleaned and properly maintained to keep your home looking spic and span. If you want to keep your glass in tip-top conditions, then read through these helpful hints from our team of glaziers.

Clean glass surfaces regularly

Our glaziers recommend that you clean commonly used glass surfaces twice a week. Glass topped tables, such as dining tables and coffee tables will quickly build up grime and smears with everyday use. The same goes for mirrors, particularly those in bathrooms or above vanities. When it comes to windows, try to clean the inside windows surfaces once a week, and outdoor surfaces once a month.

Use the right product

While there are lots of cheap glass surface cleaners that will do the job, it pays to invest in a good brand with in built-in glass protection. These products repel water, soap scum and grime, leaving your glass surfaces cleaner for longer and reducing your cleaning time.

Use the right technique

Spray your chosen glass cleaner lightly across the surface. Then using a lint-free, preferably micro fibre, cloth rub in quick energetic circles. The faster you move the less chance your will have of creating marks. If you are working with particularly dirty surfaces (such as the outside of windows) clean the glass with water, dishwashing liquid and a squeegee first. This way you avoid pushing around stubborn dirt on the surface.
Sometimes, despite your best efforts, glass panels can become scratched, dented or cracked and become unsightly even when completely clean. If you need glass replacement, then contact Frog Glass today. Our team of experienced glaziers can come to your Logan, Ipswich or Sunshine Coast home and replace glass panels on the spot.
