So, you’ve decide you want a shower screen, but now you need to choose a style. At Frog Glass we have a range of stylish shower screens which are manufactured to suit all bathroom types and budgets. If you are struggling to decide on a shower screen, then check out the different varieties available below.
More budget friendly than semi-frameless designs, our fully framed shower screens are a functional modern feature to any bathroom. Available in four beautiful colours, you can customise your frame to match existing fixtures and decor. If done well frames can really accent your shower and make it a feature.
Our semi-frameless shower screens are designed to suit the most modern of bathrooms. Slightly more expensive than fully framed designs, these stylish shower screens have a perimeter of frame around the shower screen which allows the vertical panels to be glass only.
For something more chic and innovative, why not try a fully frameless shower screen. These shower frames are top of the line. While more costly than semi-frameless designs, the lack of frames will make your bathroom look a whole lot bigger.
Perfect for shared bathrooms, frosted glass is a great way to give you some extra privacy. While dirt and grime aren’t as obvious on frosted glass, keep in mind that frosted glass is more difficult to clean than clear glass, as you need to get into the grooves and texture.
Clear glass shower screens are extremely popular in modern bathrooms. With higher light quality than frosted glass, clear glass shower screens are elegant and easy to maintain. Simply give them a wipe down after each shower to keep them looking their best.
If you’re based in Ipswich, Logan or the Sunshine Coast and looking for a new shower screen. Contact Frog Glass today. All our shower screens are installed to Australian Standards and come with a 5-year guarantee on the frame and parts. Made to order in our factory, we only use A grade 6mm toughened glass.
Modern homes are filled with glass. Windows, glass doors and mirrors all need to be cleaned and properly maintained to keep your home looking spic and span. If you want to keep your glass in tip-top conditions, then read through these helpful hints from our team of glaziers.
Clean glass surfaces regularly
Our glaziers recommend that you clean commonly used glass surfaces twice a week. Glass topped tables, such as dining tables and coffee tables will quickly build up grime and smears with everyday use. The same goes for mirrors, particularly those in bathrooms or above vanities. When it comes to windows, try to clean the inside windows surfaces once a week, and outdoor surfaces once a month.
Use the right product
While there are lots of cheap glass surface cleaners that will do the job, it pays to invest in a good brand with in built-in glass protection. These products repel water, soap scum and grime, leaving your glass surfaces cleaner for longer and reducing your cleaning time.
Use the right technique
Spray your chosen glass cleaner lightly across the surface. Then using a lint-free, preferably micro fibre, cloth rub in quick energetic circles. The faster you move the less chance your will have of creating marks. If you are working with particularly dirty surfaces (such as the outside of windows) clean the glass with water, dishwashing liquid and a squeegee first. This way you avoid pushing around stubborn dirt on the surface.
Sometimes, despite your best efforts, glass panels can become scratched, dented or cracked and become unsightly even when completely clean. If you need glass replacement, then contact Frog Glass today. Our team of experienced glaziers can come to your Logan, Ipswich or Sunshine Coast home and replace glass panels on the spot.
When it comes to apartments, townhouses and duplexes, space can be a problem. With smaller land sizes and less internal space, it’s important that you decorate and furbish your home in a way that makes it look and feel bigger. If you need inspiration, then check out these tips from our expert glass suppliers.
Install glass bi-fold doors
One of the most popular home renovation techniques for small homes, glass bi-fold doors save space and create more functional spaces. With large glass panels, these doors will improve your light quality and provide uninterrupted views. Glass bi-fold doors are particularly effective when adjoining indoor and outdoor areas, as they create an open plan look and increase your functional space.
It’s a well-known fact that mirrors can trick the eye into making a space look and feel bigger. As a general rule, the larger a mirrored surface, the bigger a room will feel. Add large mirrors to walls (especially those facing windows) to create the illusion of more space. In bedrooms, install mirror fronted wardrobe doors. Both space saving and modern looking, these wardrobe doors reflect light and provide uninterrupted surface which will make your bedroom look far larger.
Decorate with light coloured furniture
Dark furniture has a very heavy visual weight and will close in the room. By choosing light colours and soft hues (such as white or beige) you can expand the look of your space by appearing to push back the walls. Glass topped tables and coffee tables are also a great way to increase your visible light and open up a space.
As dedicated glass suppliers, Frog Glass supply a range of glass products that are perfect for making your small home look bigger. Choose from mirrors, mirror fronted wardrobe doors, glass bi-fold doors and other glass products which can be cut to size. Our glass suppliers cater to the areas of Ipswich, Logan and the Sunshine Coast.
To make your Queensland pool fencing compliant, it must meet a range of government enforced safety standards. These standards dictate the height and strength of barriers, gates and appropriate latching requirements preventing direct access from a building to a pool area. Non-compliant pool fencing can result in costly fines, issued either on-the-spot or via court mandating.
The minimum height from ground to the top of your pool fencing must be 1200mm or more, with a maximum gap of 100mm from the ground to the bottom of a fence. When it comes to horizontal rails on fencing, there should be a single gap of at least 900mm between any horizontal rails on the fencing, and the gaps in theses verticals must not exceed 100mm. Where there is no gap between horizontal rails of at least 900mm, the horizontal rails must be on the inside of the fencing and not exceed 10mm in width.
All pool gates must open outwards, to the pool area and must be both self-closing and self-latching. All pool gate latches should be at least 1500mm from the ground and 1400mm from the upper part of lower horizontal railings. If not, the latch must be located on the inside of the fencing, so adults can reach over. Pool gate hinges that are wider than 10mm must be placed 900mm apart or fitted with non-climbable safety caps.
Want to ensure your pool fencing is compliant? Contact Frog Glass today. Catering to the areas of Ipswich, Logan and the Sunshine Coast, we have a range of glass pool fencing which meets all QLD safety standards.
Both modern and functional, our glass pool fencing is custom made in three different styles: framed, semi-frameless and frameless, to suit your budget and needs. Our stylish glass pool fencing is installed using A Grade safety glass to comply with Australian Standards.
It’s one of those age-old home décor questions: what’s better, shower curtains or shower screens? At the end of the day, the decision is yours, but make sure you consider the decision carefully.
Cheaper and easier to install, shower curtains are budget friendly and simple. You can choose from a variety of colours and designs and really who off your personality. Particularly effective when surrounding combined shower and tub systems, shower curtains can be taken down and washed when necessary.
Unfortunately, shower curtains do tend to get dirty quickly and are prone to mould and mildew growth. If not well done, shower curtain can look very tired and age your otherwise modern bathroom.
While more expensive, shower screens are very modern and extremely versatile. Suitable for almost any bathroom and layout. Shower screens can be installed around your shower area to define wet and dry areas and prevent water from spreading to others of your bathroom. Shower screens are available in a range of materials and styles, with glass panels providing a very luxurious look.
Shower screens do, however, require regular cleaning to prevent a build up of soap scum. It becomes very obvious that your screens are dirty if they are not properly maintained. Shower screens can also look slightly out of place when surrounding a combined bath and shower (not to mention it makes bathing pets or children more difficult).
As you can see there are advantages and disadvantages to both options, but in general the layout of your bathroom will largely make the decision for you. If you have decided a shower screen is the way to go then contact Frog Glass today. Our company specialises in high quality glass shower screens and caters to the areas of Logan, Ipswich and the Sunshine Coast.
If you’re renovating your home, then at some point or another you will have considered installing bi-fold doors in your home. These amazing door systems are highly sought after by homeowners as they offer both practical and aesthetic benefits.
Bring the outside in
Unlike sliding doors, bi-fold doors can be opened up completely, letting in both light and air from outdoors. This optimised the air quality and light quality of surrounding rooms and creating an open plan feel between your indoor and outdoor areas.
Bi-fold doors take up very little space and increase your living space. Not only is this more visually appealing, but it will create a more functional living space that looks and feels far larger than before.
Perfect for outdoor areas, bi-fold doors allow you to open your doors to either side, allowing you to enjoy seamless views from the inside out or the outside in. Whether your doors are open or closed you can enjoy views all day long.
Save on your energy bill
By being able to completely open your doors you can increase your air circulation and reduce the need for air-conditioning or other cooling systems. This will save you lots on your energy bills in summer.
Increase your home’s visual appeal
Bi-fold doors are a great way to transform your home for the better. Available in a range of colours and finishes, you can completely customise the look of your home and impress potential guests and buyers. While sliding doors offer similar functionality at a cheaper price, if you’re looking to add value to your home then you can’t go past bi-fold doors.
